Hollywoodland or Bust
There's a freeway running through the yard...two of them, actually.

So as it turns out, the more often I post new blogs...the more people read them each day!  *COOL!!!!*

So yeah...it's -18 degrees here at the moment.  It's supposed to get down to -25 tonight.  Not even joking.  Our high today was -8 or something ridiculous like that.  A co-worker of mine suggested that we might be at the beginning of another Ice Age.  Heh.  I hope he's not onto something there...

I heard on the news last night that our neighbor to the north, Cedar Rapids, has already used up all of it's salt and the city's entire budget for dealing with snow for the year.  I'm sure we must be right behind them, too.  (I'm sorry, but doesn't this whole "winter" thing happen EVERY YEAR?  Don't you think they'd be prepared for it by now?   Just sayin'.)  We're ahead of last year's total inches of snowfall by over 22 inches already, they said on the news...which I find a bit humorous (just a tiny bit, really) because everyone told us when we got here, "Be thankful you weren't here LAST winter!  It was the worst winter we've EVER had!"  Um...this pretty much just SUCKS, is all I'm sayin'.  I still can't even believe that we're here.

Oh, and the icing on the...well...ice, is that I'm coming down with a cold.  AWESOME!  Well, at least I have tomorrow off.  :)

I just got the warmest, cutest little slipper booties from work (Old Navy, in case you forgot).  I swear, we carry the cutest, comfiest (is that a word?) things for lounging around the house.  I am currently dressed head to toe in warm fuzzies, all from Old Navy (have I mentioned how comfortable the sweatpants are already?).  Just another reason I'm so happy to work there!  :)

Anyway, in closing, I just want to thank you--yes, YOU--for reading my blog.  I am honored that you, whoever you are, care enough to check in with me.  Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings.  Even though Alex and I now live in this cold, lonely, far away place called Iowa, I am comforted to know that there are still people like you who care about me enough to stop by.  Now...can I offer you some hot chocolate?

xo.
