Well, I've succeeded in getting a job...at the mall. Woo hoo! I'll be attending orientation on Friday afternoon for my new seasonal position at Old Navy!
I've gotta admit, I never saw myself as the "work-at-the-mall" type. Ever. But when the "not-being-able-to-afford-groceries-or-park-or-pay-for-gas-or-toothpaste" hits, all bets are off! :)
The funeral festivities for my grandfather over these past few days were very difficult for our whole family, but the healing has definitely begun. It was inspiring for my entire extended family to come together and honor our patriarch, who helped to create such a huge, happy family. I saw relatives I hadn't seen since I was a baby and met some I didn't even know existed. All 16 grandchildren and all 8 great-grandchildren were in attendance, along with second and third cousins, great aunts and all. Of course, we wished we were all together under different circumstances, it was really an amazing thing to be a part of...
