In the Hamptons, everyone wears polo T's. I wish we were still there relaxing instead of back here in LA packing...
I had ANOTHER meeting with ANOTHER commercial agent on Sunday morning. He seemed to really like me and told me he'd for sure be getting in touch with me "right at the beginning of the week," but here we are on Tuesday afternoon and I have yet to receive any calls. At this point, I am just going to meetings to get the experience and possibly make some connections for the future. I'm not counting on anything to happen in the next two weeks before we leave for Iowa...but it sure would be nice to have someone submitting me for work during the time I'll be spending there over the next 18 months. Lots of industry folks have told me recently that I could just put myself on tape for auditions, as lots of actors who live outside LA do that every day--apparently, it's very common--but I still need someone to get me the auditions in the first place.
I'm definitely not giving up, though, and plan to keep submitting myself for representation both in LA and Chicago, which is a 45 minute flight from Iowa City. I'm excited to get back to the theatre and rediscover my roots, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for my career and my life. This is a very exciting time for Alex and me--a new beginning--and we can't wait to tell you all about it.
