...OKAY, FINE.
Growing up in suburban Chicago, I was first introduced to the stage through dance and studied ballet for many years. I later fell in love with vocal performance, as well.
My first acting role was that of Maid Marion in my fifth grade production of Robin Hood. I then did a lot of regional and community theatre through high school and college, appearing in numerous theatrical productions.
After a year-long detour to Osaka, Japan as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student, I decided to attend Southern Illinois University and studied vocal performance. After five unfulfilling semesters at SIU, however, I left to pursue my acting career back in Chicago.
During my time in Chicago, I studied at Act One Studios. I then relocated to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue acting further, studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, while actively auditioning for films, television, and commercials.
I've since appeared in national commercials for Verizon Wireless and AT&T Digital Cable, as well as in the SAG Indie films "Collapse" and "Aaseamah's Journey," to name a few, along with a whole slew of 48-hour Films and little indies--including one that was accepted into the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2011. I am proud to be a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
Not long ago, I made the decision to return to the academic study of theatre acting, and completed my BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Iowa in May of 2010. The training I received in Iowa was invaluable, especially what I learned in studying with the incredible Meredith Alexander.
With a great deal of new credits, training, and confidence, I have recently returned to LA, where I am thrilled to be once again pursuing work.
I'm really happy to be back.
